High-quality 32-bit A/D converters with ESS technology are built into the channel inputs, and analog D/A converters are featured on the main and booth outputs to produce clear, crisp, and natural sound on the dancefloor and in the booth for all the music you play. The sound of the microphone input and headphone output has also been improved through a refined and improved construction with carefully selected new components. The DJM-A9 has also received major audio upgrades. Various elements have been optimised to make the DJ mixer more instinctive and comfortable to play, including wider spacing around the EQ buttons. The MAGVEL FADER channel and crossover EQs are smoother than those on the DJM-900NXS2, allowing you to mix and match with ease.

Sound Color FX includes the world’s first Central Lock function, which you can activate to ensure you don’t accidentally overshoot your treble/bass settings, no matter how fast you turn the dial. Beat FX is more instinctive on the DJM-A9 thanks to the new color display and improved X-Pad, now positioned horizontally for easier lateral sliding. The Beat FX channel selector is now a dedicated button, enabling faster effects routing, and the Multi I/O section has been updated to provide a true send. In total, there are 14 Beat FX to play with, including 3 new ones. The improved microphone section opens up new possibilities when streaming or MCing. You can connect condenser microphones directly to the DJM-A9 for the best possible vocal sound quality thanks to phantom power at the microphone input—a first on a DJ mixer. To automatically change the sound of your voice, there are 3 different microphone effects plus a dedicated reverb to play with. Easily switch between DJing and playback with the DJM-A9 thanks to dual USB Type-B and Type-C ports, allowing you to connect two PCs/Macs running rekordbox or Serato DJ Pro. This connectivity opens up new possibilities for your performances. If you want to listen to tracks from your mobile device, Bluetooth/MD input makes things easy with the DJM-A9. Audio can be routed to any channel, and you can use all the mixing effects to tweak the sound. The DJM-A9 is compatible with the next version of rekordbox, due out in March 2023.
